Well, reputable breeders that do try to ensure the best health possible also spend more on testing, taking care of stock and pups, etc. They spend more on breeding than say the average miller who just throws dogs together and never spends a dime on them. Why wouldn't someone who has put $$$ into breeding charge what is needed to keep from going broke? Therefore, you stand a chance to pay more, and rightfully so, IMO.
