Hi & Welcome to YT,

Trimming the bottoms will do the trick, but I will pass on to you what my vet told me.

I have a 10 month male yorkie whose tail got cut really, really short....so short the nerve was damaged and will never waggle . Anyway he said his only concern with that was that there wouldn't be anything covering his little butt hole and flies might land and cause infection.

So I do trim him bottom, but leave enough length coming from the top to cover the hole...lol

Oh and about the teeth Duncan had no baby teeth to be pulled out, and like someone said the tug of war really helps to loosen up the teeth also a lot of chew toys and bones.
