It does sound as if Kizzy is trrying to become the Alpha. I just wish they didn't have to do it so hard. She is putting Maggie in her place and the toys are "hers". Chewie is very stingy with his chew bones. He will fight with anyone if they get to close to where he has them hidden. So I have stopped giving them to him until Karma is old and big enough to hold her own against him. My problem is that when Chewie starts fighting he doesn't back down or stop. I always have to step in and separate them by lifting Chewie off the other dog, to avoid them being hurt. If it was a few nips I wouldn't intervene, but as you said when they cry and you know they are being hurt it makes me mad! And it all happens so fast. I did fill a water bottle and am trying to keep it with me, but I basically have to wear it around my waist, cause I never know when or why he will lauch out? I am sorry you are having this problem but I am very glad you shared it. I was beginning to think I had the "only bully Yorkie". My dogs are crate trained and sometimes I just have to separate them till he calms down, or put him outside away from the pup. We have a doggy door so he an come back in, but it gives him time to cool off. Please keep me posted on any thing you do that seems to help. |
