This is my personal opinion, but I will say that I never advertise a puppy for sale on the Internet. My website and anywhere my website may appear is there for information and I do get enquiries about puppies. Those enquiries are based on my family pictures of my Yorkies and pictures of pups were those I had within the last few years and are to give an idea of what my pups and adults look like along with a few show pictures. My website badly needs updating though as I do have some champions I have finished since and some cute pet puppy pictures of pups I sold in the last year or so for pet.
As my interview and placement procedure is so stringent, there would never be a point to advertising a pup for sale on the Internet. From the enquiries I get from elsewhere in Canada or the US, I usually try to determine where the enquirer is from put them in touch with a reputable breeder in their area.
Potential puppy buyers find me via my website, at dog shows, referrals from other reputable breeder friends, and referrals from people that have a pup from me.
I want to interview the potential puppy buyer, eventually meet them first before I will agree to a sale. Somewhere somehow, the right home always comes along. The pup is usually closer to 6 months and sometimes more and then will be already spayed or neutered. That's aobut the best nonbreeding contract there is.
Once sold to a new home, that buyer has all the support and resource for information they could ever want. That comes from me, the breeder, and if I need to I will get in touch with any of the three Vets I have for my dogs or if it is a training issue that I don't know how to resolve, I get in touch with my dog trainers that I take my show training from.
I don't have many pups for sale at any time and am never in a hurry to get them out the door. They can stay here with me until that right home comes along and back here they come if that home doesnt work out for some reason.
