I totally get the theory behind Cesar Milan's techniques. IE pack mentality and giving the dogs enough stimulation. Most of the problems seem to come from under exercised dogs that rule the roost.
I'm with AlaskaYorkie with the exercising - I saw that herding dog programme. The dog loved it.
But I prefer Jan Fennell the Dog Listener's methods. They don't involve laying hands on the dog like Cesar Milan it's little things like; not letting your dog go through a door before you, eating before your dog - er I can't remember the others off the top of my head but none of them involve yanking on a collar. Basically it is about providing the dog with a strong leader / role model. As with humans, leading by example.
And because you asked - I'm 28. |
