Crate training is pretty basic and it works, but the typical rules that say a 3 month old dog can hold it for 3 hours does not apply to yorkies! They have tiny bladders and have to go out a lot - that's why people say they are difficult to train. Difficult for the human
So, when should I have her in the crate? When I'm busy doing things? Also, with my 3 kids ages 11, 8, and 6, they LOVE playing and holding her, etc. This is going to be challenging.
