I use CM on Mimi because she matts easily but since she has a haricut I don't use it as often. I used to put it on her right after her bath when her coat was damp. You only need to use very little...if you use too much their hair will look greasy. Then I would also use it during the week to brush her. Now I only use it right after bath mostly for shine. I can tell you that CM is some good stuff. When I first got it I put some on her dry coat and then brushed her....matts came out instantly.
