Basically teletype is a free service provided by our tax dollars so that the deaf can use email to make phone calls. Basically they type it, then the teletyper calls me. Scammers are now using this service to make free international calls! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ID/4781806/
Anyways, there was some confusion at first because I asked if he has any questions about Brandy. Then he asked me if I had any questions. I asked him where he is from. He said Michigan and that he had a FREE yorkie and he saw my ad! Obviously he had translated my ad wrong!
I told the typer that I KNOW that scam and I know that he will want me to western union the money and I will never see a yorkie or my money again. Then I said that I know he's probably located in Nigeria. Then the teletyper told me that he disconnected. I tried to talk to the teletyper about it, but he kept saying that he's not allowed to get involved in our conversations and he's just the go-between! Then he hung up on me. My tax dollars are funding this!
Anyways, if I wasn't getting ready to move tomorrow and working on dinner I would have messed with the guy longer. PLEASE be careful about this! I have NEVER heard of them calling people like this. I am APPAULED that they are allowed to use this wonderful service on something so horrible. It is so immoral. Maybe the government needs to have legally deaf people register before using this service to get the scammers off of it. It's a wonderful service that shouldn't be abused. I am AMAZED that right now my tax dollars are funding these scammers! |
When I was selling my puppies last year, I had this same type of phone call. I never heard from her again. I ended up selling my baby to a local lady that had 3 yorkies and 2 of them had died and her other one was getting pretty old. That reminds me I need to get in touch with her I haven't seen him since she came and got him.
Sorry for rambling. Thanks for posting this type of scam I thought it was relatively new.
