Hi and welcome! I too am a first time puppy mom. I am pleasantly surprised at how much instinct I have for caring for Gracie. It did not take long at all to be able to know what she wants. Most of the time it is just attention from me! Read the list of safe people foods and avoid giving your little one anything else. Lots of play, lots of praise and you will do just fine.
