I think the expen is a great idea. Since you have carpeting, you could get a piece of linoleum or something to put down under it. Something that would be easy to clean in case she misses the pee pad would work, and it wouldn't damage the carpeting. Make sure to put lots of toys and a couple blankets on the one side, along with her food and water. Then, line the other side with a couple pee pads. You might also want to leave a flossie or bully stick for her to chew on. Another thing you might try is a puppy kong. Some puppies love those, and it keeps them busy for long periods of time. I put a little peanut butter in it and around the outside and freeze it. It works great for teething.
