The Terrrier Mafia bit was intended to be funny but my sense of humor usually lands me in hot water as does the fact that I, also, tend to speak my mind.

I would like to extend my paw to Misty and apologize for some poor behavior on my part. My sister would have given the same advice that Misty gave me.
Having not been aware of my situation, her initial response was right on.

My first Yorkie I adopted from a vet tech at my vet's office. I was very young at the time and she let me take him home somewhere between 7 1/2 and 8 weeks. Although he lived 18+ years, I think he was too young leave the nest so early with a newbie. I understand responsible breeders like to keep their pups for 12 weeks. In this way they are able to access some health issues that might not be evident at an earlier age. Because Yorkies are a small breed their blood sugar needs to be regulated by regular feedings and supplements which are best handled by a breeder rather than a family with a new puppy. My babies get their fix of Nutri-Cal.

I appreciate both those who are willing to help me find a younger pup and those whose concerns don't think it's a good idea.

My best to each and everyone of you, your families and furkids,

DJ
