I'm not so sure even with supervised visits it would work to leave them alone, for example, my 2 Yorkie's live together now for two and a half months since we brought Sissy home. I always left them in playpens, connected together but each in their own. Last week I decided it was time to leave them loose in the house when I was going to be gone less then one hour. Chloe snarled at Sissy as I was walking in today, guess she pushed Chloe too far, back to the playpens for awhile when I am not home Maybe I will try it again in a few weeks, hoping the sibling rivalry will end before leaving them loose together.
But an idea comes to me that if she could leave him in a playpen with a cover like mine, then he would be safe from the cats claws and also have company
