Using this vet I will have to have him @ the vets office @ 7:30, but the vet won't be doing the surgury till 9:00. Then he'll have to spend the night @ the vet in a kennel so he can recover and in case his stitches break apart. However, nobody will be @ the vet over night. Is this every vets standard procedure? It just really bothers me that he'll have to spend the night @ the vets office with out any one there. What do all of y'all think about that? Does this vet seem like an alright vet to use or should I call around and get somone else?
Two suggestions or thoughts. Most vets with this policy will allow you to sign a release or just go ahead and take them home. If it was me and they wouldn't let me take mine home, I'd look further. It's your choice. Secondly, did you inquire if your vet uses something like isoflorane, instead of barbituates to anesthetize?
