When you are talking about mixed breeds, you can't really go by how one or two pups of that mix might look. A mix breed can look like either parent and everything in between.
Both parents likely are not purebred representatives of whatever breed you are talking about in the first place. The mix you are talking about likely will not come from a pb Yorkie bred to a pb Chihuahua. That can add many different things to the mix.
I do professional pet grooming and I have groomed two litter sister Yorkie/maltese cross sisters. They look totally different, have different health issues and different personalties.
The one is a little calmer, looks like a light coloured Yorkie. The sister is black with a white patch on her chest and a little more hyper. You would never guess these were both the same cross much less litter sisters.
