I was painting the interior of a garage with the radio playing when they interrupted and told about the first plane going into the twin towers. We live about 50 miles from the Pittsburgh airport and see planes flying in there all the time but I saw a plane very low in the sky, very unusual. And it didn't appear to be flying level. It wasn't long after that that they announced about the plane that went down in PA. I got shivers up and down my spin. My husband is a volunteer fireman and the following February we had the opportunity to visit ground zero to pay our respects. What you saw on TV doesn't even begin to describe it. As an artist, I sculpted this plaque for my husband and local fire departments, cast in aluminum and clear coated locally and then hand painted the flag.
