I was having the same problem with Venus last week. She's now 12 weeks old.
Someone suggested put her crate in an x-pen, and putting wee wee pads in there with her. I made one, but its only 24" tall, so she came over it the first night
Met me in the hall when I got up!
It took a day or so, but she's finally learning what the wee wee pads are for. At first she played with it, next was laying on it, lol.
Now she's staying in there, for how long, I don't know. And she's using the wee wee pads too. She hasn't messed up her crate since!
Seems she's using the wee wee pads more than she's going outside now, and we did the potty, praise treat outside.
I'm sure others have good ideas too, but this (so far), is working for me.
Oh, btw....this is a great site here, and lots of help is here, folks are really great about giving different views that what we been doing. I've spent a lot of time here looking at different things others used and have found some great info here!
