This is what worked for me. I know most don't like the pee pad in their crate. I bought a dog playpen and put he bedding at one end and the pee pad at the front where it zips open. Cali trained in a few weeks by 12 weeks of age. She would use the wee wee pads when confined to her playpen and just hops in there to use it when she is out. She is 14 months old and still goes in the playpen to pee and to take a nap. We just started giving her free run of the house when were gone. The difference is I no longer work so she is never alone more than 3 hours and that is not often. Just remember they really are too young to hold it for 8 hours yet. Like I said this method worked great for us. Good luck
