Welcome to YT. AKC has 4 standard coors that are listed on their reg. application for Yorkies..blue and tan; blue and gold;black and tan; black and gold. Those of course are the adult colors as all babies should be born black and tan. When in doubt about the color to reg a Yorkie, AKC told me to reg as the same as the mother's colors. It really is of importance only if the dog is to be shown. In case the colors are grossly different, the BREEDER can petition AKC to change the colors.
There are so many informative sites on the internet now. It was really hard to find a mentor when I first started breeding and no internet info-so, shows, books, begging and pleading for info from the show or experienced breeding were the only ways to learn.
