I agree with supervised visits first. I had two very fat and spoiled cats before I got my yorkie. They weren't too fond of her at first, but they tolerate her now. John (yellow tabby male) loves playing with her now. Jo Jo (grey calico female) just ignores her and does her own thing. She is really picky and really doesn't like anyone except for me.
When I brought Bree home, I just kept them separated in different rooms until I came home. Then I would let them get together. Now the three of them run wild in the house all day, while the Lab puppy has to be in his kennel when we are not home.... I don't want my stuff chewed up!
