Oliver's Mom's got a good idea, ask a high schooler, it's normal math to them!

7.50 miles at .60 mile would cost you 4.50 (4.20 for 7 miles, plus .30 for the 1/2 mile) and you have $8.00 to spend, so sorry your computation isn't correct. Always work the problem backwards - we ususally know the answer, but just don't know how we got it.
