Thanks!
My 2 monster are at both ends, so that makes it hard to train with them together. I have the clicker and the starter book, I also have the book clicks for Joy. I am going to start back to the basics and try to train them at separate times. TJ is VERY good at SIT. He is also EXTREMELY SMART (littler bugger) and he is highly motivated by treats, so I know that it won't be long before I can get him to do some more basic commands. He also is very fearful of the coins in the can. But I am trying to ONLY use that for excessive barking. He BARKS AT EVERYTHING (coffe maker, tape measure, etc..)
Roxy being timid, it is hard to get her focused. She geys 'antisy' and will start to 'circle' and hide, etc...So she will take longer. I kinda can get her to do things, but I have to say it over and over, and then she kinda just plops down somewhere (under a chair). It is very fustrating...there's TJ 'sitting' and waiting for a glance all the while I am repeating sit, sit, sit to Roxy and she is just freaking out!
I want to see what I can accomplish before I bring in a trainer. And YES it will be a positive trainer, I only believe in POSITIVE training. |
