I'm sorry I have no advice, but I will keep you, Sammy and the rest of your family in my prayers. Hopefully, somebody will see this that has experience and will respond for you. Have you talked to the vet he is with about a payment plan? Some do that. I really hope Sammy starts responding quickly and has a complete recovery, poor little guy. Have faith that things will work out and they usually do. Hang in there Sammy, we will all be praying for you to get better.
