I have 2 Yorkie's a male and a female, but only one has "Reverse Coughing", he only does it when he is very excited......right before we leave to go out, or when he sees other Dogs or People. It stops once he calms down, it's quite annoying and it sounds like an "Asthma Attack" or a "Smoker's Cough"?
he is almost 3 yrs. old and he has not grown out of it?
But my female does not have it, they are not related in any way. I'm curious to know if it's Hereditary through his Breeding? Or is it Contagious? When I got him my Vet. said it was "Kennel Cough" so that's what they treated him for? I have had it Diagnosed by "Groomers" and other Yorkie Owners as a collapsed Trachea too? But my Vet. has not "Diagnosed" it as such, apparently it sounds the same?
