I dont think there is much you can do but Im not sure....

To be honest with you alot of vets are undereducated when it comes to livershunt. I know these days alot of breeders are testing their pups at 12 weeks old before they go home for livershunt with a bile acid test. The AAI is something rare.

I myself have a rare disease called gastroparesis and it took several doctors and specialists before one of them actually figured it out simply because there is little known about it to most doctors

. Maybe someone here can give you better advice on what to do at this point as far as your vet. But in the mean time keep on working to make your baby better. I have an online friend whos dog has AAI. She belongs to the livershunt yahoo group I posted in another topic. I would join and ask about AAI and she should chime in. If you do join and post put the Disease in the subject line, I know the group gets a ton of email and she should be able to single that post out. It may be a LS group but there are so many dogs there with alot of different problems.

But what I would do before you diagnose your dog with this disease is find a proper vet and go about it that way and get a diagnoses. Im not a vet I am just offering advice on something I have read about in the past.
