Hygiene Shave BEFORE neuter I wish I had been told ....
"Get Bodhi a "hygiene cut" before he gets neutered because all his soft stool from the anesthia is going to stick and be very hard to clean off."
I picked up Bodhi yesterday evening from his neuter appt and found hard crunchies beneath his tail, on a leg and between some toes. Grrr.
Let him have his first food after fasting for 10 hours as soon as we got home.
Poor little guy had to be cleaned off with dog shampoo and a wet washcloth. This stuff didn't come off easy! Had to make sure that I stayed away from the incision and get all the soap rinsed off.
Hubby had his own tummy problems going on, but was still trying to help me clean Bodhi.
We were hoping to just bring Bodhi to a nice, quiet home. Feed him and give him lots of lap time. But, NO. After the "bath", Bodhi had a #2. Cleaned up the tile and thought we had him cleaned up enough until he sat on the bed and left a spot.
Cleaned poor Bodhi up again and laundered the bed cover.
Today has been no fun either and I'm thinking of begging a groomer just to give him a quick shave tomorrow. Bodhi still can't have a real bath for 10 days.
I'm just so unhappy that a trim wasn't suggested by the vet. Would've made Bodhi's homecoming so much more pleasant.
Ok, rant done. Thanks for reading. |
