I have all the dew claws removed on my pups. My vet has never said that the front ones are harder to get to. He just does it all. I don't think there is a real reason for the dog to have them and most pet owners foget about them and the nails grow long and curl back into the dogs paw. Also it is harder to groom a dog with dewclaws. Sorry you had a rotten expereince at the vet. I hope your evening gets better.
