Rebecca, about your dog who's afraid in the car -- I don't think he's afraid. I think it's just 'positive' stress. The dog gets so excited that he exhibits stress signals. Do a search on 'canine eustress' and you'll find a little more info.
Demi experiences what I think is positive stress in doggie class. She loves to go there, but when we're there she scratches obsessively and last week she actually got a rash in class that went away within minutes of leaving. I think she just gets so keyed up that physical symptoms pop up. |
