Having dew claws removed at 7 months is considered an amputation. I would not put one through that pain unless there is a health issue with them. My Chizzie has dewclaws -- I just watch them carefully and make sure that the toenails are clipped regularly and she does fine.
I would definately have bloodwork done. Anestethetics can be fatal to dogs with undetected liver issues. All it takes is a simple inexpensive blood panel to rule out this danger. |
