I posted a thread similar to this regarding the lack of blood work prior to surgery. My vet doesn't seem to think it is necessary prior to me having Nikko neutered. Many on here have said I should go elsewhere as blood work is important because it can detect underlying conditions that could cause complications during the surgery. I would (and am) get a second opinion. As for the dewclaws, my boy has them in the front also. I just get them clipped.
