You might want to find out who does insert the tube. A vet tech or the vet? I've read of some vet techs damaging the trachea because they used too big of tubes ramming them down their throats. IOW, they didn't know what they were doing. I don't want to scare you. This is just something that I think needs to be considered. I have confidence in my vet. She has yorkies and raises a few occasionally. Good luck.
