We have had Reece for just about 2 weeks and I have never used a crate for him, or Darla (6months) for that matter...Reece has two spots in the house where there is a pee pad BUT he likes to go outside YAY!! Both dogs sleep with us and Reece cries to go out when he needs to. He never pees on my bed thank goodness...so all in all he is doing SUPER well..Darla took a bit longer to break but by the time she was 4 months she was totally trained and really was pretty much trained within the first couple of weeks like Reece...just a few accidents now an then but ALWAYS on a pee pad...and it was ALWAYS my fault as I wasnt closely watching for the signs. Reece starts to sniff around real fast when I know he wants to go outside and is starting to come to me whining. I know I couldnt hear them cry in a crate...thats jmo though...you have to do whats right for YOU!!
