Hello and welcome to YT!!!!

Is the crate close by where your baby can see you? If he is young, he may just be scared that he is all alone. Also you may try to put a radio close by so he hears the noise so he dont think he is alone.

I dont use a small crate, I use a ex-pen, it's big enough for her bed, food, water and a pee pad. I feel with yorkies, they are so small that they cant hold there bladder as long as a bigger dog, so I feel it's unfair ro stick them in a small area and make them hold it. My little girl Lillie will potty on her pad when she is in her pen, and then when she is out of the pen I take her outside.
