 It'll work....
I've not used this particular kind...however, my husband has a hand held ultrasonic bark "zapper". His work takes him to places where agressive dogs freely roam. When one approached him with teeth showing and ears back and barking agreesively, he points this remote control looking device at them, push the button and the dogs turn them self around. It doesn't seem to "hurt" them, but it will quieten them!!! The one described in the link is much more controlable than his...but the ultra sonic waves will work.
