Look up demodectic mange on the computer. ALOT of pups have it. Usually minimal hair and maybe some slight redness. My shihpoo had some hair loss on his neck and the vet kept trying to convince me that was what it was. I looked it up and it looked nothing like his spot and was in a different area. I finally relented and let them do the scrape. It was negative, but I learned quite a bit about it from researching on the web. At least it would give you a better idea if you could rule that out. I think I remember it saying that a lot of pups will grow out of it. I think the treatment is repeated dipping over time, or some pretty potent pills if they don't grow out of it. Good luck.
