Here is what I've seen recommended for this problem. When Layla asks to go out (Good for her, BTW!), put her on a leash and take her outside. No eye contact, no playing, no interaction until she "goes". Then, heavy praise (& maybe a treat), the leash comes off, and she gets to play.

It will be tiring for a few days, but I'm told that most dogs will drastically reduce their request to go out and play using this method.
