Maggie is very much like your baby. She is 11 weeks old, likes to sleep. I too have to wake her up to take her out. That coughing sound may be the reverse sneeze that they are so famous for. Maggie did it one day and it scared me to death. It sounds like a harfing sound, just like she is trying to clear her throat. I let her lick on an ice cube and it stopped. Somebody told me to hold their nose and it will stop. She hasn't done it again. It never hurts to get a professional opinion on that though. As far as her bowels, some days they are loose. I think two things contribute to that. One, puppies put everything in their mouth. When I take Maggie for a walk, I am constantly bending over and removing all kinds of crap she insist on eating. The other could be that they are teething. Today she is somewhat down and out. She is laying on a baby quilt right in front of me on the computer desk. She was way too active yesterday, ate way too many sticks, and just wore herself out. Today, she doesn't have much of an appetite. I have been trying different foods, but nothing is getting her attention. I gave her a dose of Nutrical for safe measures. Hope this made you feel a little better and that your baby is only going through puppyhood and nothing is serious. |
