I understand your concerns, my little one is 2 years old now and has run away MANY times! He doesn’t look back and I always pray that I catch him before something happens.
I finally went onto drsfostersmith.com and bought the Elongate Expandable Gate ($74.99) that I put across my front door so that when the door is open, I do not have to worry about him. It’s probably been about 8 months or so since he’s gotten away..
