My 8-week old pup had a lot of "almost white" hair on the top of his head also. In fact, because it looked as though you were looking at his scalp - it made him look almost a little "bald."
At the same time (8 weeks) - if I examined the hair on his body - I could see about 1/4 inch of the same "almost white hair" coming in all over.
Well - the hair on his head soon turned a beautiful golden tan and the hair on his body has become a black/siver mix.
I keep my little pup cut very short - so his new true colors were totally apparent by the time he was only a few months old. (All of his darker puppy hair had been trimmed off and was long gone.)
