he really shouldn't bee bred until he is at least a year old altho AKC recognizes studs at eight or nine months, I think. Don't know about CKC. Then, you should have genetic testing done. You should research his background (pedigree) to see if there are any flaws in it. After you have done all this, you need to write up a stud contract and decide what you will charge for a stud fee. You will find many people will want you to take "pick of the litter." it is not wise to do this unless you just want another puppy. For one thing, you cannot bred the puppy you would keep back to him . I am in the process of having genetic testing done on my little male. He has been bred once but only to my own dog. He is 3.3 lbs.
