Are you sure that it is cancer? A friend of mine used to have a dalmation and had had some type of deposits under his skin - but it was not cancer. They felt like hard lumps. I don't really know much about the breed, but the one that I did know had this condition. I would make sure that you get him checked before you try to make such a difficult decision.
