The problem with only feeding every 4 or 5 hours is they are not able to each enough in each feeding to meet the total intake they need any 24 hours. I am surprised they are not demanding feeding though. If you feed 1 cc per ounce of body weight every 3 hours that's 8 times a day, but if you are only feeding 4 or 5 times a day I would think they would not be getting enough food.

Have you had the Mom's stool checked for worms? Maybe the fat bellies are due to worms? How much are they weighing now?

Are you still stimulating them to poo and pee by wiping with a warm rag? or is Mom still doing this part? I think this is necessary until about 3 weeks. I don't think peeing on themselves is normal, but maybe at that age it is since usually Mom is still stimulating and cleaning it up.

What formula are you feeding? I would think they need to be going poo more than once a day, but not after every meal. Is it hard when it comes out or soft?
