After having a much-heated debate with one of my neighbors who proudly informed me that my yorkies were "no good" because they were CKC registered and that her AKC registered yorkie that came with a limited contract was "exceptional", and that there is "miles of difference between the two," I have a question for everyone........What is the difference between an AKC registered puppy sold as pet quality with no breeding/showing rights, a CKC registered puppy, and a puppy with no papers at all? Aren't all three of them just "pet quality yorkies." Is there anything different other than the price? Are there different levels of "pet quality yorkies?" IMHO, if you are just getting them for a pet, why not save some money and get a CKC or nonregistered puppy? Can someone explain why they wanted an AKC registered puppy if they can't show or breed it? I thought the whole reason to get an AKC puppy was so that you could show it or breed it. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to offend anyone on here, I'm really just venting. I think my babies make as good a pets as anyone elses.
