Usually the cause is unknown. The dog may be mildly epileptic. It can occur in any breed or cross breed. It sometimes doesn't start until after the age of 4 years old.
For seizures to occur that infrequent, I wouldn't worry about it I wouldn't bother starting him on any medications for it. Medications are usually advised if seizures are frequent or quite strong. Phenobarb is usually the drug and can be hard on the liver.
