I can understand your position. Nikko is 17 months old and unneutered. My husband has been against it, not so much because we ever had intentions to breed him, but because he feels it is cruel to "cut off his manhood." I have heard other ladies on here say their husbands have felt this way also so I guess it is a "guy thing". Nikko is due for his annual checkup and boosters next week and i will be discussing neutering with his vet. He is a marker and I am not so sure that having the procedure done now will do anything about it since it is already a bad habit but neutering does have health benefits. My vet said it is never too late to neuter them and it does prevent certain types of cancers.
