I have an 8-panel similar to the diagram. The bars are quite close together, no way to get close to an escape. Gracie was 1.8 lbs. when I first got her and it held her just fine. Call the company and ask how far apart the bars are just to be safe. You can also buy these at PetCo, maybe PetsMart. Buying in person you can see for yourself how far apart the bars are, and ask the sales associates if you still need reassurance.
