We added a screened in patio (large) with 2 planting areas. I put a bush in each and my little Yorkie (when I get her in 2 weeks) will do her business in those 2 areas. I put some rocks on top of the dirt and just have scoop up the poop. I did the same thing years ago when I had a poodle who would run away at the drop of a hat. I also hate walking any dog. My poodle would raise his leg at every tree we passed and squirt just a little. It took half an hour to empty his bladder. He did love the patio, though. We lived in Southern FL. and he killed many a lizard and several snakes.
