 Doggie with cataracts - cope with her going blind or get surgery?
The eye vet explained the options today - I'm trying to decide whether to just let things go and cope with it, so she will go blind for sure, or have her get surgery, which they say has 94% chance of success but could have complications, is really expensive and needs a lot of follow up.
One thing that upset me was that if I don't get the surgery,or if the surgery doesn't go well, they may actually have to remove her eyes due to inflammation. They said this isn't really too big a deal for dogs, and showed me pictures of dogs that they had done this for. The dogs did look like they were happy enough, but the idea was so scary. Does anyone have any experience with making this choice? |
