try giving him/her something to chew on just before you leave. Pick something he/she really likes and don't give it at other times so that you departure is associated with something pleaseant. Simba used to do this too but I started to give him chicken strips, flossies, bully sticks, etc. right before I am out of the door and he was so busy that he didn't even realized that I was leaving!
