This past week I saw someone that left their poodle in their car with the windows barely cracked and the car off while they went FOOD SHOPPING. I don't know about you, but food shopping takes me a good hour to do. When I walked by the car the dog started barking like crazy. I felt so bad for it. I'm sure there are some dogs that, behavior-wise, would do fine in a car alone. But my dog (and I'm guessing this dog too since it was barking so frantically) would be a complete wreck alone in a car even if it was temperature controlled. It's better IMO to leave them at home where they're comfy and cozy with all of their toys.
