Don't hate me for this, but I have left my dogs in a car for a few minutes before. Of course, if it is warm or hot out, I
always have the air conditioning running for them or the heater running if it is in the winter. I try not to take them with me if I am going into a store that they can't go into, but sometimes it is unavoidable and I will have them with me and have to stop at a store on the way. I would
never ever leave them out in the hot sun, a car can get really hot really fast. It may have only been 80 outside, but cars get much hotter and it was probably more like 90 or 100 degrees or more in the car, especially with a car that has little to no air circulating.
